Narathiwat: The perpetrators planted a bomb and seriously injured one ranger. The incident occurred at around 8 a.m. in Ban Yamurae Nae, Village 4, Ba Cho District, Narathiwat Province. The perpetrators detonated a bomb hidden among the debris on the side of the road while nine rangers were patrolling the route to ensure the safety of teachers and students, seriously injuring one ranger.
According to Thai News Agency, the explosion severely injured VDP Panthakan Inthakhuen, who was hit by shrapnel in the face, both arms, and torso. His fellow soldiers quickly transported him to the hospital. An inspection of the scene revealed a 60 cm deep and 100 cm wide crater, along with a motorcycle lying on its side. Pieces of the improvised explosive device, assembled and placed in a metal box weighing approximately 5 kg, were found scattered around the site, although no detonator was recovered.
The explosion also caused complete damage to a shed attached to a house, with shrapnel hitting and breaking roof tiles. Officials suspect members of a violent group were responsible, targeting the daily officers on patrol. Safety measures have been intensified in the area, with forces deployed to surround suspicious zones. Authorities are urgently working to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
