Nong khai: The body of a former district chief was discovered in a car parked in Soi 9, Village Housing, Pho Chai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nong Khai Province. Villagers noticed the car parked with the driver's side door slightly open for three days, suspecting that the man might have ended his life due to personal issues.
According to Thai News Agency, police from Nong Khai City Police Station, along with rescue workers, inspected the vehicle and found Mr. Piyachat, aged 45, seated on the footrest of the passenger seat. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and shorts, and a foul odor permeated the area. No signs of theft or disturbance were observed inside the car, although a nameplate for a desk was found.
Inquiries revealed that Mr. Piyachat was a former district officer who had been dismissed from government service due to habitual alcohol consumption. Villagers reported that the car had been parked in the same spot for several days, with the driver's door slightly open. Initially, they did not pay much attention until they noticed the village dogs frequently sniffing around the vehicle. Upon closer inspection, they discovered the body. It is speculated that Mr. Piyachat may have been too intoxicated to exit the car, leading to his demise. Authorities are continuing their investigation and are in the process of contacting the deceased's relatives to claim the body.
