Bangkok: "Big Pom" has affirmed that "Santi" is still part of the Palang Pracharath Party, despite being pictured dining with members of the Bhumjaithai Party.
According to Thai News Agency, Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, addressed concerns regarding a recently circulated photograph showing Mr Santi Promphat, deputy leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, dining alongside Mr Akaradej Thongchaisod, president of the Phetchabun Provincial Administrative Organization, Mr Newin Chidchob, president of Buriram United Club, and Mr Chada Thaiset, MP for Uthai Thani from the Bhumjaithai Party. The dinner, which took place at a hotel in Bangkok, led to speculation about potential party defections.
Gen Prawit clarified that he had spoken with Mr Santi and was assured that both Mr Santi and the six MPs from Phetchabun remain committed to the Palang Pracharath Party. He dismissed rumors of them defecting to the Bhumjaithai Party, confirming their continued allegiance.
Regarding the photos of the dinner, Gen. Prawit explained that Mr. Santi had already briefed him on the matter, asserting that it was merely a casual dinner meeting with no political implications.
When questioned about the future activities of the Palang Pracharath Party, Gen. Prawit stated, "I don't know yet, I don't know yet, I don't know yet." Additionally, when asked about his health, he affirmed that he was in good condition.
