Barbecue Restaurant Seeks Customer After 200,000 Baht Overpayment Incident.

Nonthaburi: A famous barbecue restaurant, Nuea Luan Luan, has made an urgent announcement seeking a customer who mistakenly transferred over 200,000 baht for a meal worth just over 2,000 baht. The incident occurred at the restaurant's Ratchaphruek branch, and the management is appealing to the public for help in locating the customer to return the excess funds. According to Thai News Agency, the restaurant's Facebook page posted an image of the customer's receipt amounting to 2,020.91 baht alongside a notification of an incorrect transfer totaling 202,091 baht. The restaurant manager, Ms. Sawitree Phothisomboon, expressed her concern upon discovering the error while reviewing the day's transactions. CCTV footage confirmed the customer's visit and purchase, suggesting the error was likely due to a misplaced decimal point during the transfer process. Ms. Sawitree explained that despite efforts to contact the customer, including a social media appeal and liaising with the bank, the customer has yet to reclaim the overpaid amount. As a precautionary measure, the restaurant has secured the funds, awaiting the customer's return. The manager also conveyed an apology for any misunderstanding that might have arisen due to the decimal placement on the receipt. The restaurant remains open for the customer to retrieve the funds 24/7, with contact details available on their Facebook page. Meanwhile, bank intervention has been unsuccessful in reversing the transaction, leaving the resolution dependent on the customer's response. Ms. Sawitree reassured that the funds are safely held and ready to be returned upon the customer's identification.
