Bangkok: Bangkok executives held the first Hybrid meeting to acknowledge the dust situation exceeding the standard and requested cooperation from the government and private sectors to WFH and reduce PM2.5 emissions. Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, chaired the 12568 Bangkok Executives Meeting, which was attended by Dr. Wanthanee Wattana, Permanent Secretary of Bangkok, executives of Bangkok, and executives of agencies under Bangkok and via the online meeting system.
According to Thai News Agency, the Bangkok governor said that from the forecast that today there will be a lot of dust and the announcement to request cooperation from the WORK FROM HOME (WFH) network, it turned out that today was as predicted. The 24-hour average of particulate matter no larger than 2.5 microns (PM2.5) at 7:00 a.m. was measured at 37.6 - 73 micrograms/cubic meter (µg/m3), which is above the standard at the orange level, which is a dust value that starts to affect health. If any agency is not comfortable with WFH, please turn to public transportation to travel to reduce the number of cars on the road. As for Bangkok itself, today the meeting was adjusted to be a hybrid, meaning there were both Onsite and Online meetings in parallel to reduce travel during the high dust situation.
