Austrian Man Hospitalized After Meth Pills Burst in Stomach

Bangkok: An Austrian man was rushed to the hospital from Don Mueang Airport after experiencing a seizure and loss of consciousness due to methamphetamine pills bursting in his stomach.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident unfolded at 1:00 a.m. when Huamark police received a notification from a hospital in the Suan Luang area. The foreigner, identified as Mr. Kantner, age 43, had been suffering convulsions at the airport. Upon his arrival at the hospital, doctors discovered pink liquid discharging from his anus and conducted a CT scan, revealing numerous round objects inside his stomach.

The medical team found one of these objects, resembling a drug package, had exited his body. Subsequent investigation confirmed the package contained red methamphetamine pills stamped with the letters WY. A total of 255 pills were counted outside of the patient's stomach, with an unknown number still inside.

Doctors concluded that Mr. Kantner had likely swallowed the drugs, which later caused him severe distress when the containment burst. He remained unconscious and was awaiting surgery to address the situation. Authorities have been notified to investigate the case further.
