Nakhon pathom: The subordinate of the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Administrative Organization, responsible for the fatal shooting of a young firefighter at a karaoke bar, has been apprehended and charged with intentional murder. The accomplice involved in the incident has also surrendered.
According to Thai News Agency, the tragic event occurred late last night when officers from Sam Kwai Phuek Police Station in Nakhon Pathom Province responded to reports of a violent altercation at a local karaoke bar. At the scene, investigators discovered a .45 caliber bullet casing on the floor and a bloodstained gray motorcycle parked nearby. Following a trail of blood across the road, officers found Mr. Atthaphon, who had suffered a gunshot wound to his right abdomen and a knife wound to his right arm. Despite the paramedics' efforts to revive him, Mr. Atthaphon succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Mr. Kasem, the karaoke shop owner, recounted that the altercation began when Mr. Kiatsak, accompanied by a woman, visited the bar. After her departure, Mr. Phongsaran, known as Sgt. Earth, and Mr. Ekkapoj, the shooter, entered the establishment and joined another patron. Tensions escalated when Mr. Atthaphon attempted to clink glasses with Mr. Kiatsak, who was in a foul mood. A heated exchange ensued, during which Sgt. Earth confronted Mr. Atthaphon about his employment as a firefighter, asserting his authority over him.
The situation deteriorated further when Sgt. Earth summoned Mr. Ekkapoj, who returned with a previously departed long-haired man. Sgt. Earth then struck Mr. Atthaphon, leading to a scuffle in which Mr. Kiatsak and Mr. Ekkapoj became involved. Amidst the chaos, Mr. Ekkapoj drew a firearm and shot Mr. Atthaphon, who attempted to flee but collapsed near the road. Authorities, alerted by the shop owner, arrived promptly to provide assistance.
The police investigation, aided by CCTV footage, led to Mr. Ekkapoj's arrest at a gas station en route to Nakhon Pathom Province. He faces charges of intentional murder, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and carrying a firearm in public without a valid reason.
Additionally, four other individuals implicated in the incident-Mr. Kiatsak, Mr. Phongsaran, Mr. Santi, and Mr. Sombun-have surrendered to authorities. They are charged with jointly causing physical harm that resulted in the death of another person.
