Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting of 17-Year-Old Girl After Barbecue Quarrel

Kanchanaburi: Police have successfully apprehended a suspect known as "Spy," who is accused of fatally shooting a 17-year-old girl in the face following a dispute at a barbecue restaurant. The suspect fled and was later found hiding in Kanchanaburi Province. The incident is believed to have stemmed from animosity and an exchange of glares between the individuals involved.

According to Thai News Agency, police investigators from Region 1, along with other relevant agencies, have arrested Mr. Spy, 25, who is facing multiple charges, including intentional murder and illegal possession of a firearm. The arrest was executed at a gas station in Nong Khao Subdistrict, Tha Muang District, Kanchanaburi Province. Mr. Nattawut, or Mos, who allegedly assisted Spy in fleeing the scene on a motorcycle, was also detained. The tragic shooting of Ms. Wanwisa, also known as Nong Tangmo, occurred in Soi Thetsaban Mueang Lam Sam Kaew, Village 6, Tambon Lam Sam Kaew, Amphoe Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani Province, after she had been dining with friends at a nearby restaurant.

CCTV footage from the vicinity of the crime scene played a crucial role in identifying the suspect. This evidence led to the Thanyaburi Provincial Court issuing an arrest warrant. The authorities had also announced a reward of 50,000 baht for information leading to the suspect's arrest. Following the apprehension, police are currently interrogating the suspects to uncover the exact motive behind the crime. A reenactment of the crime scene is anticipated to occur later in the day to corroborate the suspects' confessions.
