It was found that between 16-22 August 2024, the situation occurred in 10 provinces. As of 6:00 a.m. today (22 August 2024), there are still 7 provinces with flooding: Lampang, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Phetchabun, and Udon Thani. In most cases, the water level has decreased or stabilized. However, in 1 prov ince, Nan, the water level has increased. Mr. Anutin is concerned about the safety and well-being of the people in the disaster areas. He urged the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation that even though the overall situation has improved, it is still a flood season. He asked the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation to closely monitor weather conditions and coordinate with relevant agencies to prepare assistance for the people. Ms. Traisulee said that the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) had reported to the Minister of Interior about the assistance provided to the disaster-stricken areas at present, stating that there had been a combined effort from the DDPM offices in eac h province, military units in the area, districts, local administrative organizations, volunteers, volunteers, foundations, and related agencies to survey the damage, provide assistance to those affected, provide food, drinking water, move belongings to higher ground, and expedite water drainage. Specifically, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, through the regional disaster prevention and mitigation centers, has provided disaster relief machinery to various areas, consisting of 5 vehicles for evacuating victims, 17 flat-bottomed boats, 13 14-inch water pumps, 2 long-distance water pumping trucks, 1 hydraulic truck, 1 drinking water production truck, and 1 flood relief vehicle with a large water pump. In addition, the Central Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command (DDPM) has ordered agencies to strictly operate under their missions, including the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Warning Center, etc., to assign officers to monitor weather information, rainfall, and runoff, warning towers, and to communicate and warn the public. The Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Centers in the areas will provide support with tools, equipment, and disaster relief machinery in flood-affected areas. Provinces will expedite damage surveys and assistance in accordance with the prescribed regulations. Ms. Traisulee said that for the impact data in the 7 provinces where flooding is still occurring, it was found that there were floods in 31 districts, 105 sub-districts, 541 villages, with 12,777 households affected, separated into areas in each province as follows: 1) Lampang has flooding in 4 districts, 9 sub-districts, 16 villages, including Wang Nuea District, Chae Hom District, Ngao District, and Mae Mo District. Two households were affected. The situation has now improved. 2) Chiang Rai has flooding in 10 districts, 26 sub-districts, 156 villages, including Wiang Chai District, Chiang Saen District, Pa Daet District, Phaya Mengrai District, Mae Sai District, Mae Chan District, Thoeng District, Wiang Kaen District, Khun Tan District, Chiang Khong District. 7,511 households have been affected. The water level has currently decreased. 3) Phayao has flooding in 6 districts, 40 sub-districts, 313 villages, including Pong District, Chiang Muan District, Don Kham Tai District, Phu Sang District, Mueang Phayao District, Chiang Kham District. 3,500 households have been affected. There is currently no rain in the area. The water level has decreased. 4) Nan has flooding in 3 districts, 8 sub-districts, 10 villages: Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Wiang Sa District, Na Noi District, 14 households affected and landslides on Road No. 1081 between Ban Ngom Pao Nam Klan, Khun Nan Sub-district. Currently, it was found that the water levels in Tha Wang Pha District, Wiang Sa District, and Mueang Nan District have increased. 5) Phrae: There is flooding in 1 district, 2 sub-districts, and 9 villages, including Rong Kwang District. Initially, 23 households were affected. The water level is currently stable. 6) Phetchabun has flooding in 3 districts, 6 sub-districts, 22 villages, including Wang Pong District, Chon Daen District, and Mueang Phetchabun District. 1,726 households have been affected. The water level is currently stable. 7) Udon Thani has flooding in 4 districts, 14 sub-districts, and 15 villages: Muang Udon Thani, Chai Wan, Ku Kaew, and Phen. One household has been affected.
