Udon thani: Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, along with two Members of Parliament, visited Udon Thani, signaling their intention to join the Bhumjaithai Party in the forthcoming election. The locals expressed their appreciation for Anutin following his withdrawal from the government, emphasizing his commitment to protecting national sovereignty.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, accompanied by Mr. Songsak Thongsri, a former Deputy Minister of the Interior and a member of the party's executive committee, as well as MPs from the Bhumjaithai Party, went to Udon Thani Province. Their visit aimed to engage with the community and address local issues. In the morning, they participated in a merit-making ceremony, offering alms to monks alongside villagers during the housewarming of Mr. Adisak Kaewmungkunsap, also known as Dudee, an MP from the Udon Thani Thai Sang Thai Party.
In the afternoon, Mr. Rang Thuraphon, an MP from the Thai Sang Thai Party, visited Amphoe Phen. He introduced the Bhumjaithai Party team to the residents, stating that they would collaborate to tackle local challenges. The expectation is that these MPs will run for re-election under the Bhumjaithai Party banner, given their active involvement in local political activities.
The reception for Mr. Anutin and his team was notably positive, especially after their decision to leave the government and take a stand on the Thai-Cambodian border dispute, aligning themselves with the people's interests. Earlier, on June 27, Mr. Anutin, alongside Mr. Chaichanok Chidchob, Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party, and MPs from Surin Province, visited Kap Choeng and Phanom Dong Rak Districts in Surin Province. They engaged with border communities, offering relief supplies and supporting the construction of 'safety bunkers' for schools in the border regions.
