‘Anutin’ Expresses Gratitude to ‘Thaksin’ for Support and Trust

Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, recently expressed his gratitude towards former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra for his commendation and trust. Anutin emphasized that there are no hidden agendas, metaphorically stating, "only glasses, no knife."

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin addressed remarks made by Paisal Puechmongkol, a lawyer and political commentator, who shared on Facebook that Thaksin had praised Anutin for his sincerity and his special closeness and trust with Prime Minister Paethongtarn. Anutin clarified that he has not yet met Thaksin, with their last meeting occurring on April 11, 2025, before the Songkran festival, due to both having separate commitments. Anutin expressed gratitude towards Thaksin for his kind words, should they be true.

Anutin further engaged with the media, affirming his dedication to working closely with the Prime Minister and his commitment to the government. He assured that his efforts are transparent and devoid of any ulterior motives, humorously remarking that he only possesses "glasses, no knives." When questioned about any perceived mixed signals from Thaksin, who both praised and critiqued him, Anutin stated that the praise outweighed the criticism. He playfully deflected further inquiries about his personal feelings, urging the media to focus on work-related matters.
