Bangkok: Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has affirmed the unity of the coalition government formed by Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai parties, despite ongoing challenges and controversies. Speaking at the National Defense College in Bangkok, Mr. Anutin highlighted the coalition's ability to work together effectively even before resolving all existing issues.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Anutin addressed the complexities of leadership and governance, emphasizing the importance of long-term planning in government appointments. He noted that the appointment of a Permanent Secretary with six years left in service allows for sustained policy implementation, unlike appointing someone with only a year remaining, which often results in limited progress. Mr. Anutin expressed confidence in the coalition's potential, stating that despite early skepticism, the partnership between Pheu Thai and Bhumjaithai has been beneficial for Thailand and its people.
During his lecture, Mr. Anutin elaborated on the necessity of cultivating leaders who blend tradition with modernity. He clarified that the draft Entertainment Complex Act, which includes casino provisions, has been revised to include the Ministry of Interior's role alongside the Prime Minister, ensuring balanced oversight.
