Anutin Charnvirakul Dismisses Rumors of Cabinet Reshuffle Amidst Speculation Over Ministerial Positions

Bangkok: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul firmly dismissed rumors regarding a potential cabinet reshuffle that would see him moving from his current role as Minister of Interior to the position of Minister of Education. Anutin clarified that there have been no discussions or contact on this matter, emphasizing the importance of listening to Prime Minister Paethongtarn Shinawatra, as any cabinet restructuring must be deliberated at the party leader level.

According to Thai News Agency, Anutin, who is currently in Geneva attending a meeting on disaster risk reduction, stated that he has not been approached by anyone regarding a change in his ministerial role. He highlighted that the Prime Minister had not convened any meetings concerning a cabinet reshuffle. Anutin mentioned that his recent meeting with the Prime Minister focused solely on work-related matters and not on any potential ministerial changes.

Anutin further explained that he is in Geneva to seek international cooperation on disaster risk reduction and emphasized the importance of discussing issues that would benefit Thailand and its people. He underscored the significance of global interest in Thailand's warning systems, specifically the cell broadcast system that is being developed further. He noted that such international cooperation and discussions are beneficial and a source of pride for Thailand, especially during the current disaster season characterized by earthquakes, floods, and landslides.
