Anutin Charnvirakul Addresses Su-ngai Kolok Bombing Incident

Su-ngai Kolok: "Anutin" regrets the deaths and injuries from the bombing in Su-ngai Kolok. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, expressed his condolences for the victims of the recent bombing incident in Su-ngai Kolok, Narathiwat Province. He instructed the governor of Narathiwat to ensure proper care and treatment for the affected individuals and emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest level of safety for the local population through the efforts of administration and defense volunteers.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Traisuree Traisaranakul, Secretary to the Minister of Interior and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior, reported that Mr. Anutin received a detailed account of the explosion that occurred in front of the Su-ngai Kolok District Office. The initial reports highlighted that the incident resulted in 8 Su-ngai Kolok Defense Volunteers being injured and 1 fatality.

Currently, soldiers, police, and local government officials are collaborating to inspect the affected area. They have issued warnings to local residents to avoid the vicinity of the scene, exercise caution during travel, and remain vigilant. Residents are advised to report any suspicious objects to authorities via the 24-hour hotlines 191 or 1341.

Mr. Anutin conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families and expressed concern for the injured. He has directed district chiefs and governors to ensure that compensation and medical treatment are provided in full accordance with the relevant regulations.

Ms. Traisulee noted that Mr. Anutin is particularly concerned about the welfare of both the public and officials in the area. He has tasked the governor of Narathiwat with deploying administrative officials and volunteer defense corps to support the mission of maintaining public peace and safety. Additionally, he urged all officials to exercise caution and prioritize safety in every mission they undertake.
