Bangkok: 'Alice' has met with the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), confirming that she owns a clip found on Tangmo's mobile phone, which was taken three years ago.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Niwat, also known as "Alice," provided evidence in the form of an iPhone 11 to Pol. Lt. Col. Nattapol Disayatham, a specialist in consumer and environmental protection cases and head of the fact-finding team investigating the death of Ms. Phatthathida (Nida) Patcharawirapong, also known as Tangmo. Alice confirmed that he took the three video clips in Soi Charansanitwong 92 and that they were his original work, taken three years ago.
Mr. Niwat reported that he contacted the DSI to provide this information, bringing original clips and chat records with a person named Bang Jack for examination. He affirmed that the clips were initially posted on his Instagram story before he communicated with Bang Jack. He explained that he filmed the clips and sent them to Bang Jack because he learned that Tangmo's mother had sent her mobile phone to Bang Jack in America. On June 6, 2022, he reached out to Bang Jack on the page "Bung Jack FC V2" to discuss the matter, stating he lived in Soi Charansanitwong 92, near where Tangmo's body was found, and aimed to help connect the case.
The clips reportedly recovered from Tangmo's mobile phone are stored in Niwat's iCloud, complete with date information. The first clip, filmed on May 21, 2022, involves calling a motorcycle online. The other two clips were filmed in Soi Charan 92 on May 22, 2022, before being sent to Bang Jack. Niwat denied any involvement with being hired, emphasizing that filming in various locations is a regular activity for him.
Mr. Niwat clarified that he has not been in contact with Bang Jack since the problem arose and was unaware of how the clips would be used. After a teacher raised questions about the clip on a news program, Niwat identified himself as the person in the clip to avoid misunderstandings. He assured that, despite being an editor, there was no video editing, and his intentions were purely to assist as a fan of Tangmo.
Pol. Lt. Col. Natthaphon stated that Alice voluntarily contacted the investigation team to provide facts and demonstrate her innocence concerning the clip recorded in Soi Charansanitwong 92. The investigators are now examining Alice's phone to verify the clip's authenticity, a process expected to take some time.
Three additional witnesses have come forward to provide information, and ten more people will be invited to share facts from early March onwards. All collected information will be used to ascertain the truth of the events.
Regarding potential questioning of Bang Jack, Pol. Lt. Col. Natthaphon indicated that the investigation would first verify which device recorded the clip before possibly expanding to contact Bang Jack. Meanwhile, Bird, Tangmo's boyfriend, has reached out to the DSI, and coordination is ongoing to determine if he will contribute information.
