Khon kaen: A 22-year-old man rode a motorcycle into a convenience store, threatened the staff with scissors, and grabbed some snacks to flee, but was caught by the police immediately.
According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at a convenience store located in Tambon Nai Mueang, Amphoe Mueang, Khon Kaen Province. A man, described as white and teenage-looking, initially entered the store on foot, requesting to exchange 1,000 baht in cash. He then left the store, only to return on a motorcycle, which he drove directly into the premises, startling the staff.
The shop staff reported that during his second visit, the man brandished a pair of scissors in his left hand while grabbing snacks and other products with his right hand. He then exited the store on his motorcycle, leaving the staff in a state of shock and confusion.
The police from Khon Kaen Police Station were alerted and quickly responded. They spotted a suspicious man riding a motorcycle matching the description from the store's CCTV footage, emerging from Soi Klang Muang 28, close to the crime scene. Upon searching him, no illegal items were found.
The suspect was identified as Mr. Theppharit, aged 22. He admitted to riding the motorcycle into the store, threatening the employees with scissors, and stealing snacks and other items before making his escape.
The officers charged Mr. Theppharit with 'robbery using a vehicle with a weapon at night.' He confessed to all charges, and fortunately, there were no injuries or fatalities resulting from the incident.
