Chiang mai: A 2-year-old girl was hospitalized for the second time after accidentally consuming jelly infused with marijuana at her uncle's birthday party, prompting her parents to pursue the case with authorities.
According to Thai News Agency, the young girl was first admitted to a private hospital in Chiang Mai after ingesting the cannabis-laced jelly, which was inadvertently left at the celebration. The incident led to symptoms including drowsiness and auditory hallucinations. Her initial hospitalization spanned two nights, accruing medical expenses exceeding 50,000 baht. Although her condition improved, she was readmitted due to a high fever shortly after being discharged.
Her parents have filed a complaint at Hang Dong Police Station in Chiang Mai, expressing their determination to see the case through to conclusion. The police have obtained samples of the remaining jelly for drug testing and are preparing to initiate legal proceedings.
