Yala Opens Train Service for First Day Following Floods.


YALA: The train service from Su-ngai Kolok Station to Yala has resumed operations for the first time following severe flooding, marking a significant step towards normalcy for local residents. The reopening saw a lively turnout as residents utilized the service to purchase goods and visit their hometowns. However, upbound services from Hat Yai Station remain suspended.

According to Thai News Agency, train number 452 made its inaugural post-flood journey, arriving at Yala Railway Station at 11:04 a.m. The return journey to Su-ngai Kolok is scheduled to depart at 3:27 p.m. as per the usual timetable. The Yala Railway Station Master emphasized that the service resumed following urgent repairs to damaged sections of the route. Currently, operations are limited to a single train between Yala and Su-ngai Kolok, with daily assessments to determine further improvements.

The situation remains challenging for routes extending to Bangkok, as significant sections near Pattani Station are still submerged and damaged. Tr
avelers intending to reach Bangkok are advised to board trains at Hat Yai Junction Train Station starting December 4.
