Woman Loses Nearly 7 Million Baht in Fortune Teller Scam

Bangkok: A woman has come forward to accuse a group of fortune tellers of deceiving her into participating in a black magic removal ritual, resulting in a loss of nearly 7 million baht. The victim, referred to as Ms. A, reported the incident to the Sai Mai Must Survive page after being tricked by the fortune tellers.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. A encountered the fortune tellers, identified as Ajarn A Diao and Ajarn Mae Wang, during a teacher worship ceremony at the Uma Devi Shrine in Bangkok. The fortune tellers, who organized the event, befriended Ms. A and gradually gained her trust. They later convinced her to participate in a ritual at their residence, claiming it would ward off bad luck and improve her destiny.

Ms. A recounted how the fortune tellers persuaded her to transfer money almost 100 times, with one ritual costing as much as 700,000 baht. Despite her compliance, she did not perform the agreed ritual, resulting in a total financial loss nearing 7 million baht. Ms. A filed a fraud complaint at the Phra Khanong Police Station in February, but the case has seen little progress. It is reported that there are 5-6 other victims, including a female doctor, who have been similarly deceived.

Mr. Ekkapop Lueangprasert, the founder of the Sai Mai Must Survive page, has expressed his intention to liaise with the superintendent of Phra Khanong Police Station to expedite the case. He emphasized the need to address such scams, which exploit the faith and trust of individuals.
