A woman complained that she was bitten by a snake in a movie theater and injured, but the movie theater did not take responsibility, causing her to be wary of going to the movies and will watch online instead. Ms. Krapabhiphon, aged 27, filed a complaint with Mr. Ekkapop Lueangprasert, advisor to the Minister of the Interior and founder of the Sai Mai Must Survive page, regarding the incident where she was watching a movie at a famous cinema with her family when she was suddenly bitten on the foot by a snake and injured. The victim said that the incident occurred on July 31st at 5:00 PM while she was watching a movie at a famous cinema in the Phra Ram 2 area. After the movie ended, she felt like something was crawling across her foot because she was taking off her slippers to sit. Then she felt like something was biting her. She screamed in shock and rushed to give first aid outside the cinema. When she saw that things were not going well, she rushed to the hospital. She had to stay at the hospital for obs ervation for 1 night. When she was discharged from the hospital, she went to file a complaint at Tha Kham Police Station, but the police only let her make a record, claiming that they should go and talk things out first. The victim continued that after the incident, the cinema staff did not believe that it was a snake bite, but rather a rat. The doctor's opinion stated that it was a fanged animal, possibly a venomous snake. She tried to demand that the hospital pay for the medical expenses, which amounted to 25,000 baht, but the cinema representative told her to pay in advance and then claim the money with the receipt. It took a week to get the money back. The latest update was yesterday (September 23), when they offered 6,990 baht in compensation, but she refused. She thought that the cinema should have shown more sincere responsibility. Mr. Ekkapop revealed that he will coordinate with the director of Tha Kham Police Station to investigate this case because he believes that it should be a criminal case. I n addition, there should be more responsibility. He believes that the cinema has insurance because it is considered a public place and must be highly secure. An incident like this should not have happened. Source: Thai News Agency
