Two Charges Filed Against Perpetrator in Attack on Singer Peck Palitchoke

Bangkok: Police have filed two charges against the perpetrator who used a knife to assault "Peck Palitchoke" and are preparing to summon the victim for questioning.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident involved 40-year-old famous singer Peck Palitchoke, who was attacked in the chin by 21-year-old rider Chutithep. The assault occurred at the Bangchak gas station on Soi Ramkhamhaeng 76, Bang Kapi District, Bangkok, around 1:00 AM on August 3rd. Chutithep reportedly attempted to intervene in a fight involving a pickup truck driver, during which Mr. Palitchoke had jumped onto the hood. When Mr. Palitchoke rushed towards Mr. Chutithep, the latter drew a knife to defend himself.

Pol. Col. Naren Krungsanuk, Superintendent of Huamark Police Station, stated that the case is straightforward and proceeding according to procedure. A substantial amount of evidence has been gathered, but witness testimony is pending. Peck Palitchoke, as the victim, will be summoned to provide detailed testimony. The driver of the pickup truck involved in the incident will also be invited for questioning. Investigators are currently trying to contact him, along with other witnesses present at the scene, to provide additional testimony.

Mr. Chutithep has been charged with two counts: carrying a knife without reasonable cause and assault. A physical examination showed no alcohol consumption, and he was released on bail pending further investigation.

Regarding Mr. Palitchoke's injuries, initial findings indicate a chin injury, and he has been released from the hospital. Investigators plan to summon Mr. Palitchoke for questioning to determine if his testimony aligns with that of the other party. However, contact has not yet been made with Mr. Palitchoke.
