Treasury Department Omits Kittirat’s Name from Qualifications Check.

Bangkok: The Treasury Department has not forwarded the name of Kittirat Na Ranong, the prospective chairman of the Bank of Thailand board, for qualifications inspection. This revelation was made by the Secretary-General of the Council of State, Mr. Pakorn Nilpraphun, who indicated that an existing ruling could be referenced in place of a new inspection.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pakorn Nilpraphun explained that the Ministry of Finance did not submit Mr. Kittirat’s name for examination by the Council of State because a previous ruling is available for comparison. The assumption is that the necessary details have already been reviewed, and there is no need to provide further information unless requested.

When questioned about whether the role of an advisor to the prime minister is considered a political official position, Mr. Pakorn clarified that, in his opinion, the advisor role does not fall under the category of political official positions.
