Transport Company Limited Encourages State Welfare Cardholders to Utilize Ticket Purchase Privileges

Bangkok: The Transport Company Limited (BKS) is urging state welfare cardholders to take advantage of their benefits by purchasing tickets for all available routes, as part of a broader initiative to alleviate the financial burden on low-income individuals. This initiative is in line with the company's efforts to support affordable public transportation for citizens.

According to Thai News Agency, BKS has reported that over 300,000 individuals have utilized their welfare card privileges throughout the fiscal year 2025, resulting in a total expenditure of 146 million baht. Mr. Atthavit Rakjamroon, President of BKS, emphasized the company's commitment to providing convenient, comfortable, and safe travel options in alignment with the Ministry of Transport's policies.

The program allows state welfare cardholders to spend up to 750 baht per person, per month on public transportation. To avail of this offer, citizens must present their state welfare cards at BKS ticket booths located nationwide.

In the fiscal year 2025, spanning from October 2024 to July 2025, a total of 315,544 individuals utilized their state welfare cards for bus fares, contributing to a cumulative expenditure of 146,452,443 baht.

State welfare cardholders must adhere to certain conditions to use their travel privileges on BKS buses. These conditions include presenting an identification card at the time of ticket purchase, purchasing tickets within the monthly 750 baht limit, and using the tickets exclusively for BKS buses across all standards and routes. Additionally, tickets can be purchased in conjunction with other discounts, are non-refundable, and can be postponed under specific terms and conditions. Ticket purchases are available at BKS ticket booths nationwide.
