Transport Company Enhances Services for Public Paying Respects to Queen Mother

Bangkok: The Transport Company Limited (BKS) is taking significant steps to facilitate public travel to pay respects to the royal remains of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. This initiative is in line with government policies aimed at ensuring safe and orderly transportation for citizens.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Mallika Jiraphanwanich, Deputy Minister of Transport, announced that BKS has been tasked with managing public transportation from Bangkok to other provinces and internationally. This will support the public in traveling conveniently and safely to pay their respects to the Royal Urn of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.

Mr. Atthavit Rakjamroon, Managing Director of BKS, outlined four measures to support public convenience. Firstly, BKS has prepared both company and joint-venture buses to provide an average of 6,000-7,000 round-trip services daily, catering to 90,000-120,000 travelers. Additional trips will be added as needed to accommodate all passengers, with a focus on safety, convenience, and punctuality.

Secondly, for those using non-scheduled buses and personal cars, the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Pinklao) offers free parking for about 50 vehicles daily. This allows passengers to connect with services provided by the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA).

Thirdly, BKS has stationed staff at every bus station to assist and inform passengers throughout their journey. Lastly, personal vehicles can be parked at three key passenger transport stations in Bangkok: Mo Chit 2, Ekkamai, and Sai Tai Mai.

The Transport Company is committed to executing these measures with caution and thoroughness to ensure safe and smooth travel. In addition, BKS held a ceremony to sign condolences for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit and organized an activity titled "Uniting Hearts to Express Condolences." This included the creation and distribution of black ribbons at the Mo Chit 2 Bus Terminal, allowing the public to participate in expressing their respects.
