Parliament, 'Mongkol', the president of the Senate, vows to repay the country, protect the nation, religion, and king until the end of his life, holding on to the interests of the nation and the people as the main principles, declining to answer about amending the constitution, saying he needs to see the details first, never having a pole or color. Mr. Mongkol Surassajja, President of the Senate, gave an interview after the ceremony to accept the royal command announcing the appointment of the President and Vice President of the Senate that it is the great kindness of the three of us, which is an auspicious thing for our lives. He affirmed his firm determination to work to repay the country, preserve the institutions of the nation, religion, and monarchy to serve the people with honesty and integrity until the end of his life. When asked if society is questioning the background of this group of senators and how their performance will restore public confidence, Mr. Mongkol said that we cannot stop people fr om thinking about this because in the history of growing up to where we are today, we have experienced many things in life. If we do not know anyone, are not close to anyone, it would be impossible. However, in terms of working or performing the duties of the legislative branch, it is another duty. We will proceed in accordance with ethics, according to the law, and according to customs and practices. We are happy to serve everyone and be friendly to everyone. Now that we are here, what we and the two vice presidents of the Senate have set as a joint commitment according to the vision that we have already presented is considered to be what will show our intention in performing our duties. When asked about the amendment of the constitution, Mr. Mongkol said that it is a matter of details. We cannot talk about it yet. We have just taken office. We have to look at the details first. But according to the intention, we will adhere to the benefits of the country and the people. When asked if he would adhere to th e people and not have any partisanship, Mr. Mongkol replied, 'Please don't ask this question because since we are here, we must prioritize the interests of the country and the people.' When asked about Mr. Pita Limjaroenrat, MP for the party list and advisor to the leader of the Move Forward Party, who said that he was preparing a test to examine the work of the Senate, the Senate President said, 'Don't do it yet. I want to work first. I would like to not answer this question.' When asked about the criticism of the blue senators, Mr. Mongkol said that there was none. In fact, blue, white, and red are our aspirations to unite for the nation, religion, and the monarchy, as well as the people. When asked if many senators said that if Mr. Mongkol were the president, he would dissolve the various factions, would he do so? Mr. Mongkol said that he never thought of having a faction or a color because in his life he had always been with people who had different opinions. 'I consider differences and division to be two different things. Differences are good things because it is impossible for everyone to see things the same way. I believe that we can find common ground. We must listen to differences of opinion with reason and facts. I confirm that everyone can work together,' said Mr. Mongkol. Source: Thai News Agency
