Ministry of Culture unites 5 religions to help flood victims in Chiang Rai Province. Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitchkosol, Minister of Culture, presided over the ceremony to present religious requisites, consumer goods, and essential items to help flood victims in Chiang Rai Province. The religious requisites and consumer goods were presented to two disaster relief centers in Chiang Rai Province: Wat Phrommawihan, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province, by Phra Khru Wisutthithammaphani, the abbot of Mae Sai District, and Wat Wichetmani, to be presented to monks and novices who were affected; and the Chiang Rai Provincial Cultural Office, Mueang District, to be presented to religious people affected by floods in Chiang Rai Province, attended by Mrs. Yupha Thaweewattanakitbaworn, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture; and Mr. Chaipol Suk-iam, Director-General of the Department of Religious Affairs. Executives of the Ministry of Culture, along with representatives of Buddhist, Islamic, Christian, Brahman-Hin du, Sikh religious organizations and related agencies, attended the ceremony at the Wisit Cultural Building, Ministry of Culture. Ms. Sudawan Wangsupakitchkosol, Minister of Culture, said that from the flood situation, flash floods in Mae Sai District and many other districts in Chiang Rai Province, causing severe damage to houses of the people, government offices, various agencies, tourist attractions, and many religious sites, the Ministry of Culture, by the Department of Religious Affairs, together with Dr. Somsak Khunying Pathama Leeswadtrakul, temples and religious network organizations of 5 religions, consisting of 15 religious organizations, namely, World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFF), Buddhist Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, Young Buddhist Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, Pali Studies Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage, etc., Office of the Chularatchamontri, Council of Roman Catholic Bishops of Thailand, Council of Churches in Thailand, Christian Fellowship of Thailand, Baptist Church Foundation, Seventh-day Adventist Church Foundation of Thailand, Office of the Brahmin of the Royal Teacher In the Royal Palace, the Hindu Samaj Association, the Hindu Dharma Sabha Association, the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Association, the Namtharisakkat Association of Thailand, Wat Chinnawararam, Wat Phra Ram 9 Kanchanaphisek, Wat Wachiratham Sathit, Wat Hua Lamphong, Wat Bamphen Nuea, Wat Lat Pla Khao, Wat Khlong Toei Nok, Wat Weluwanaram, Wat Borom Sathan, Wat Pho Loi, Wat Thepsorn Thammaram, Wat Saphan, Wat Phra Sri Maha Uma Devi Foundation, Tangtrong Chit Phanitchayakarn Technology College, Madam Fin Co., Ltd., and the Buddha Thaisawan Foundation, Ayutthaya, organized a ceremony to present religious requisites, consumer products, and necessary items to help alleviate the suffering of monks, novices, religious leaders, and religious people who were affected by the disaster, as an expression of concern and compassion for each other, despite being in different areas, religions, or belie fs, as fellow Thai citizens. From the initial survey, it was found that religious sites in Mueang District and Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai Province were severely affected. The Ministry of Culture, through the Department of Religious Affairs, brought 200 sets of monk's requisites, including monk's robes, robes, blankets, towels, wool angsa, socks, bags, and necessary items, including 3,000 bags of rice, 500 boxes of instant noodles, 6,000 cans of canned food, drinking water, flashlights, common household medicines, consumer goods, and clothing, to provide assistance in this time to alleviate the suffering caused by the natural disaster in the beginning. The ceremony to present religious requisites, consumer goods, and essential items to flood victims in Chiang Rai Province this time shows the concern of the government, religious organizations of all religions, and private sector networks towards the Thai people. In the past, various religious organizations in a multicultural society have continuously provid ed assistance to flood victims every year, aiming to alleviate the suffering of the religious people so that they can continue their lives. It also helps to create good relationships between government agencies and religious people of all religions, which is an operation in accordance with the government's policy to develop morality and ethics for the people on the basis of Religious principles, the philosophy of the sufficiency economy, focus on creating love and unity in Thai society. All religious organizations in Thailand must work together to create a society of kindness, compassion, and mutual assistance, and encourage religious people to apply religious principles to their daily lives so that religious people will be good people with morality, join in honoring the nation, religion, and the monarchy, and join in public service activities to create good understanding and harmony among people of different religions, so that the country will have sustainable peace and prosperity in the religious dimension .
