“Thank You” files an ethics investigation after “Senator Alongkot” pretended to cry.

"Than Khun" submits to the Senate President to investigate the ethics of "Senator Alongkot" after pretending to cry during the discussion on solving the flood problem, indicating that it is a mocking and teasing behavior that does not respect human dignity and affects the feelings of the people. Mr. Thanakun Jit-Issara, former MP for Bangkok and president of the Santi Prachadham Club, submitted a letter to Mr. Mongkol Surachat, President of the Senate, through the Senate President's Office staff, requesting an investigation into Mr. Alongkot Woraki, a member of the Senate, for any actions that may violate ethical standards and be prohibited. This follows on from the discussion on September 10th, when the Senate discussed the necessity of establishing a committee to study the flood problem. Mr. Seranee Anilbol, a Senator, reflected on the hardships of the people from his own direct experience. During the discussion, she cried out in frustration about the pain that Thais have suffered for more than 10 years. During floods, people were unable to go anywhere, food was difficult to eat, roads were damaged, and farmers were unable to harvest their crops. Most recently, this year, in the situation of major floods in several northern provinces, especially Chiang Rai, there were many deaths and injuries, and the property of the people was severely damaged, which was unprecedented. But later, Mr. Alongkot Worakit, Senator, discussed the solution to this issue. Mr. Alongkot pretended to cry and said, 'Hearing that makes me want to cry too. We've been trying to fix this for a long time, but we can't fix it. Do you have any tissues?' He viewed Mr. Alongkot's behavior of pretending to cry, mocking, ridiculing, and sarcasm, as full of prejudice and disrespect for human dignity, as violating the code of ethics and the morality system, and as not being a good example, as damaging to the honor of being a member, including fellow senators. Worst of all, the debate affected the feelings of the people who followed the debate on th e flooding issue, which severely affected the people. Therefore, it is a shame for Mr. Alongkot's honor as a former deputy governor of Uthai Thani Province. Therefore, the Senate Ethics Committee is requested to investigate the behavior of Mr. Alongkot. The club will closely and seriously monitor the work of the Senate Ethics Committee in implementing the complaint. If the results of the Senate Ethics Committee show mutual assistance and benefits, it does not comply with the ethical standards of the Senate Ethics Code. The club will then file a motion to remove Mr. Alongkot and take legal action against those involved. Source: Thai News Agency
