Thammanat Clarifies Non-Political Intentions of Attending Ceremony with Thaksin.

Bangkok: "Thammanat" has emphasized that his attendance at the Kathin merit-making ceremony alongside "Thaksin" held no political connotations. They arrived separately and did not engage in discussions. He highlighted their longstanding association since the days of the Thai Rak Thai Party. According to Thai News Agency, former Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, commented on his participation in the Kathin Samakki ceremony at Wat Khlong Kru, presided over by former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. Thammanat, along with Polphum Viphatiphumiphum, Assistant to the Minister of Culture, have been political allies since their involvement in the Thai Rak Thai Party. Thammanat reiterated that his presence at the event was intended from the start, given the cultural significance of the Kathin ceremony and Thaksin's role as chairman, and that it carried no political implications. Lt. Col. Thammanat further stated that he did not engage in personal conversations with Mr. Thaksin at the event, underscoring that attendees were mostly familiar faces from the Thai Rak Thai Party era.
