Thaksin’s Thai Nationality Clears Way for Campaigning, Says Chusak.

Bangkok: Mr. Chusak Sirinil, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, has emphasized that former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's Thai nationality should pose no obstacles for him to participate in campaigning activities for the Udon Thani Provincial Administrative Organization presidency. Chusak reiterated that Thaksin, by virtue of his Thai lineage, possesses Thai nationality, thus ensuring his eligibility to engage in such public political endeavors. According to Thai News Agency, Chusak addressed inquiries regarding the potential return of former Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to Thailand, stating that he was unaware of the specifics surrounding her potential legal return. He noted that Yingluck's situation is a personal process that does not require disclosure to him or the public. Chusak expressed uncertainty about the completion of the amnesty law, which could affect Yingluck's return, citing the complexity and contentious nature of the legislative process. Chusak further elaborated o n the challenges associated with passing the amnesty law, highlighting the extensive debates it has sparked. He indicated that reaching a resolution on the law would not be straightforward and refrained from predicting whether it would be finalized before Yingluck's possible return. He admitted his lack of knowledge regarding the legal procedures that might influence her situation and emphasized the unpredictability of the outcome.
