Bangkok: Revealing photos have emerged showing Thai soldiers placing barbed wire fences at Chong An Ma, maintaining a tight security presence. This action aims to prevent Cambodian soldiers from cutting the barbed wire fence for a second time.
According to Thai News Agency, on August 6, 2015, reporters noted that officials had discovered Cambodian soldiers cutting concertina wire that the Thai side had placed to enhance security in Thai sovereign territory, specifically in the area of Chong An Ma Market, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, on August 5. The Thai side responded by informing the Cambodian soldiers to cease such actions and to withdraw from the area, to which the Cambodian side complied and immediately left the area.
Following this incident, officials proceeded to unravel the concertina wire and return it to its original state. Currently, forces remain stationed at the operational base within Thai sovereignty to ensure ongoing security and prevent further incidents.
