Bangkok: Thai Sang Thai has publicly clarified that it is not participating in any political party's campaign for the provincial administrative organization president, following the emergence of images showing its MPs at a Pheu Thai candidate's event in Udon Thani. The party emphasized it did not authorize Mr. Adisak Kaewmungkunsap to support any provincial administrative organization candidate and is planning to request clarification from him. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pariyes Angkurakitti, the spokesman for the Thai Sang Thai Party, addressed concerns arising from a campaign event for the Udon Thani mayoral election. The incident has reportedly caused confusion due to the presence of Thai Sang Thai Party representatives on the campaign stage, which might contradict both party resolutions and electoral laws. The Thai Sang Thai Party conducted an investigation after discovering that Mr. Sarawut Petchpanomphon, a candidate for the Udon Thani Provincial Administrative Organization, posted on social m edia about a campaign event on October 27, 2024. This post included images of Mr. Adisak Kaewmungkunsap, a Thai Sang Thai Party MP, campaigning. Subsequently, the Pheu Thai Party shared similar content on Facebook. The campaign event in question featured efforts to garner support for the Pheu Thai Party candidates, including a photograph of a Thai Sang Thai Party MP, who represents Constituency 6 of Udon Thani Province. This image bore a watermark indicating the production details of the campaign media and prominently displayed the Pheu Thai Party logo. Thai Sang Thai reiterated its non-involvement in any such activities and stated that Mr. Adisak Kaewmunkuntra was not assigned to assist any other party's candidates, considering such actions as contrary to political etiquette. The party, maintaining its opposition role, sees this as a potential breach of its ethics and principles. Consequently, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Thai Sang Thai Party intends to summon Mr. Adisak for further explana tion. In a related matter, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee is also investigating Ms. Supaporn Salabsri, a party member from Yasothon Province. The party's executive committee plans to file a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) to pursue a full investigation and legal action against Ms. Supaporn for alleged misconduct and corruption. These actions are believed to undermine the democratic regime and are intended to uphold democratic standards and serve as a model for other House of Representatives members.
