Thai Patriots Network and Thai Raksa Chart Network Submit Letters to “Teng” Amidst Concerns Over Prime Ministerial Selection

Bangkok: The Thai Patriots Network and the Thai Raksa Chart Network have recently submitted letters to "Teng" amidst rising concerns over the upcoming selection of Thailand's 32nd Prime Minister. The Thai Raksa Chart Network expressed fears of potential backlash if Anutin Charnvirakul is elected, citing possible accusations of a deal to clear charges against 44 MPs, leading to the dissolution of a party similar to the previous disbanding of the Thai Raksa Chart Party.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai Patriots Network addressed their letter to Mr. Natthaphong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the Prachachon Party, requesting that the party's executive committee and House of Representatives members consider the information provided. The letter was submitted by Mr. Sadhu Anumodami, President of the Thai Loves the Nation Network, a civil society organization committed to fulfilling constitutional duties and engaging in the political process. The network has been known for its initiatives to propose national policies and provide legislative recommendations to political parties and government bodies.

The Thai Loves the Nation Network aims to inform the Prachachon Party's executive committee and House of Representatives members about the imminent decision regarding the Prime Minister selection. This follows a declaration by the People's Party, which presented three proposals for a Prime Ministerial candidate. The candidates proposed include Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul from the Bhumjaithai Party and Mr. Chaikasem Nitisiri from the Pheu Thai Party.

The Thai Loves the Nation Network also conveyed concerns about the integrity of the selection process. They emphasized the importance of ensuring that any supported candidate fulfills their promises if elected as Prime Minister, highlighting potential measures within the party to address any breach of promise.

The network elaborated on the potential implications if the People's Party supports Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul. Allegations have surfaced involving the Bhumjaithai Party's executive committee and key leaders in Senate elections, prompting a joint investigation by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) and the Election Commission (EC) into possible senator collusion. Concerns have been raised about the manipulation of independent organization committees by influential figures, which may lead to judicial and political manipulation.

Furthermore, fears persist that supporting Mr. Anutin as Prime Minister could result in accusations of a pre-existing agreement to assist 44 MPs and former MPs in evading charges. The network warned of potential abuses of power through independent organization directors, leading to severe consequences for the party's executive committee and MP candidates.

The Thai Loves the Nation Network urged careful consideration of the potential aftermath of the Prime Minister selection, emphasizing the risk of civil servant harassment and unjust power dynamics. They called on the party to consider the broader implications for civil servants, citizens, and the party's popularity before making their decision.
