Thai National Football Team to Face Lebanon and Laos in FIFA Day Warm-Up Matches

Bangkok: The Thai national men's football team is set to engage in two warm-up matches against Lebanon and Laos in November, as part of their preparation for the upcoming ASEAN Championship. These matches are scheduled to take place at Thammasat University Stadium and are organized in accordance with the FIFA Day calendar. According to Thai News Agency, the Football Association of Thailand has confirmed the match schedule, with the first game against Lebanon, ranked 114th globally, occurring on November 14th. The second match will see Thailand, currently ranked 100th in the world, face Laos, ranked 187th, on November 17th. Laos was invited to participate in place of Yemen, who had to withdraw due to difficulties in team preparation and travel. The Football Association of Thailand has sought approval from the International Football Federation to register these matches as FIFA International 'A' Matches, which would allow the results to influence FIFA ranking points at Tier 1 level. These matches are crucial a s the Thai team gears up for the 2024 ASEAN Championship, with their opening match set against Timor in Malaysia on December 9th.
