Thai Ice Hockey Team Confident of Winning 2 SEA Games Gold Medals, Signs Contract with WARRIX

Bangkok: The Ice Hockey Association of Thailand has signed a contract with Warrix Sport Public Company Limited, Thailand’s leader in innovation and sportswear products, under the brand “WARRIX” to support the competition uniforms of the Thai national ice hockey team.

According to Thai News Agency, on this occasion, M.L. Krisada Kasemsan, President of the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand, and Mr. Wisan Wanasaksrisakul, Chairman of the Executive Board of Warrix Sport Public Company Limited, signed a one-year cooperation agreement on October 10, 2025, for the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand to use “WARRIX” products.

M.L. Krisada Kasemsan revealed that he would like to thank the Thai sportswear brand for recognizing the importance of ice hockey. WARRIX is a Thai sportswear brand that is currently a nationally recognized brand and provides support for various sports at the Thai national team level. Thai ice hockey is considered world-class. The partnership with WARRIX will help bring the Thai sportswear brand to the world level of ice hockey. The Thai national team will begin using WARRIX sportswear in all international games.

“This is the first time WARRIX has supported winter sports, selecting ice hockey. The association recognizes WARRIX as a leading sportswear brand in the country. We’ve seen this brand used in many sports, including football, futsal, basketball, and table tennis, and it’s also expanding its marketing internationally. I see this as a Thai sports brand that has achieved international recognition, aligning with the association’s vision of competing on the world stage. When ice hockey and WARRIX join forces, we’ll take the sport to the next level.”

Regarding the movement of the Thai national ice hockey team for the SEA Games, both the men’s and women’s teams are currently training at the Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena, the actual venue for the SEA Games. Both teams have not yet cut their final 23 players and are still training with a combined 30-man men’s team and 30-man women’s team.

M.L. Krisada Kasemsan, who visited to observe the training of both the men’s and women’s teams, revealed that at this SEA Games, hosted by Thailand, they are including a women’s team for the first time. Women’s teams in many ASEAN countries have ice hockey teams, and there is confidence in the Thai women’s team’s readiness and potential, as they have sports science that helps strengthen the women’s physicality compared to other nations, as well as a quality coaching staff.

The president further stated that this year, the men’s team has opened up opportunities for the U18 and U20 teams to train with the senior team. This is to ensure a strong mix of players from both age groups to create the best possible team, combining freshness and experience. Furthermore, the Thai men’s team is the reigning champion, and they are not underestimating them, as many teams have developed through the International Ice Hockey Federation system. While they are confident in the men’s team, they will not underestimate their opponents.

“The association is fully prepared in every respect and wants to organize the best SEA Games possible as hosts. We will impress all supporters. Even though we are the hosts, we will adhere to ethical refereeing practices that are fair to all teams. Sports involve winning and losing, but we want to win both the men’s and women’s teams, earning two medals for Thailand,” said ML Krisada.
