Teenagers Arrested for Breaking into Coin-Operated Washing Machines to Fund Methamphetamine Purchase

Suvarnabhumi: A teenager was apprehended after breaking into a coin-operated laundry shop to steal money for methamphetamine. The shop owner, who recognized the thief from CCTV footage, detained him when he saw him passing by the shop the following morning.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident took place at a coin laundry shop along Suvarnabhumi-Ban Don Yang Road, Sa Khu Subdistrict. The teenager, aged 17, and his accomplice, aged 18, were caught on surveillance cameras entering the laundry and pretending to be customers. They then broke into three washing machines and stole the money inside.

The shop owner, upon discovering the theft, reviewed the CCTV footage and identified the suspect. Later that day, the owner noticed the same individual walking near the shop and promptly detained him, alerting the authorities for further action. The teenager admitted that he and his friend used the stolen money to purchase methamphetamine. The police are currently tracking down the accomplice for questioning and potential prosecution. Both teenagers reportedly have a history of drug use.
