State Railway of Thailand Files Lawsuit to Evict 15 Land Plots in Khao Kradong


Buriram: The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) filed a lawsuit today to evict another 15 plots of land from Khao Kradong.



According to Thai News Agency, the SRT announced on October 24, 2015, its decision to pursue legal action to revoke or evict the occupants of these plots, emphasizing that the move is in the best interest of the organization.



The SRT had previously initiated legal proceedings on October 14th and October 17th, 2025, targeting occupants of large commercial plots at the Khao Kradong Intersection, including land numbers 3466, 8564, 3477, 24091, 3476, 3742, 3743, 115572, 9160, 3285, and 30222. The current lawsuit filed in the Buriram Provincial Court focuses on additional landowners holding plots numbered 600, 601, 602, 1095, 1096, 2767, 2869, 3188, 3195, 3863, 8626, 8662, 8811, 9235, and 25091.



Regarding a related legal development, the Supreme Court’s case No. 842-876/2017, supported by the Court of Appeal Region 3, affirmed the Buriram Provincial Court’s decision to revoke the certificates of utilization for 35 villagers in the Samet and Isan subdistricts of Mueang District, Buriram Province. The SRT, in collaboration with the Buriram Provincial Office of the Attorney General for Rights Protection, has been mediating with these villagers, and SRT Asset Co., Ltd., a subsidiary, has reached a lease agreement with them.



The SRT asserts that the disputed Khao Kradong area is under its ownership. To resolve the ongoing dispute, the SRT plans to present its case in court, expressing confidence in the judicial system’s ability to ensure justice for all involved. The legal action aims to safeguard government property and optimize the SRT’s benefits.
