Sophon Saram Appointed as Deputy Prime Minister in New Cabinet List

Bangkok: The newly updated Cabinet list reveals significant changes, including Sophon Saram's appointment as Deputy Prime Minister and the introduction of new roles within the Prime Minister's Office. Mallika Jiraphanwanich is also named as Deputy Minister of Transport.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has finalized a comprehensive list of 36 Cabinet members, which is anticipated to be presented to His Majesty the King. This list features key positions such as Anutin Charnvirakul himself serving as both Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Songsak Thongsri as Deputy Minister of Interior.

Notably, Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn has been designated as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, while Sabida Thaiset takes on the role of Minister of Culture. The list also includes Chaichanok Chidchob as Minister of Digital Economy and Society and Surasak Pancharoenworakul as Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation.

The Prime Minister's Office will see the appointment of Supamas Isaraphakdi, Phradon Prisananantakul, and Naphin Srisanpang as ministers. In addition, Bowornsak Uwanno is named Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs, and Sihasak Phuangketkaew assumes the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Ekniti Nitithanpraphas is appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, with Woraphak Thanyawong serving as Deputy Minister of Finance. The Ministry of Justice will be led by Pol. Lt. Gen. Rutthaphon Naowarat, and Suphajee Suthumpun will oversee the Ministry of Commerce.

The defense sector will be under the leadership of General Nattapol Nakphanit, with Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen stepping in as Deputy Minister of Defense. The Kla Tham Party sees Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives.

Other notable appointments include Atthakorn Sirilathayakorn as Minister of Tourism and Sports, Narumon Pinyosinwat as Minister of Education, and Akara Prompao as Minister of Social Development and Human Security. The Palang Pracharath Party has Phatthana Promphat as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, and Trinuch Thienthong as Minister of Labor.

Suchart Group's influence is marked by Suchart Chomklin's role as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, while Thanakorn Wangboonkhongchana is named Minister of Industry.
