Siva Chainarong Faces Early Exit in Asian Youth Games Boxing Debut

Manama: Siva Chainarong's debut was not a good one, losing on points to a Chinese boxer and being eliminated in the first round of the Asian Youth Games. Siva Chainarong, a Thai youth boxer, had an unsightly debut, losing 2-3 on points to Chinese boxer Sang Chiangkun in the 60 kg category at the 3rd Asian Youth Games.

According to Thai News Agency, at the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain, the Thai national youth boxing team had one match in the first round. Before the match, Pol. Lt. Gen. Chaiwat Chotima, Secretary-General of the International Boxing Association of Thailand, came to give encouragement to the boxing team at the residence last night.

The result was that in the 60 kg category, Siwa Chainarong, a boxer with a gold medal at the 2015 National Youth Games, met Sang Eng Kun, a boxer from China. Throughout the 3 rounds, they fought closely, taking turns scoring points. In the end, the Thai boxer lost on points 2-3, unfortunately being eliminated in the first round.

For today (24 Oct.) there is one Thai boxer competing in the 46 kg. women's division. Warisara Teng is the clear favorite, winning the gold medal at the 2015 Thailand Youth Championships, meeting Lu Yinxiao (China). The coaching staff consists of Pik Phuengpanya, Police Lieutenant Surit Yingkamhaeng, and Police Senior Sergeant Siriwan Phuengpanya.

However, the 2025 Asian Youth Games will feature more than 4,300 athletes from 45 Asian countries competing in 26 sports and 247 gold medals. It is also part of Thailand's preparations to bid to host the 5th Youth Olympic Games in 2030.
