Bangkok: Siripong Angkasakulkiat, deputy leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, has vocalized his criticism against Pheu Thai's recent political maneuvers, particularly their dealings with the People's Party and the blame placed on Bhumjaithai. He has urged Pheu Thai to moderate their approach, accusing them of "taking the good for themselves and giving the bad to others." Siripong questioned why Pheu Thai did not consider including PN-Alpine tickets as a viable option in their political strategy.
According to Thai News Agency, Siripong addressed the ongoing government formation under Anutin Charnvirakul, highlighting that negotiations with the Prachachon Party are in progress. He accused Pheu Thai of employing a strategy that blames Bhumjaithai for issues such as Senate collusion and Khao Kradong land disputes. Siripong affirmed that Bhumjaithai is fully committed to their role, emphasizing that the Prachachon Party's proposals, which include dissolving parliament, holding a referendum, and amending the constitution, have been on the table for discussion for some time.
Siripong further elaborated, "We presented what we did best. Today, the Bhumjaithai Party, led by its leader, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, who is the prime ministerial candidate, went to ask for their support and expressed their intentions. They personally accepted the proposal, stating what we would do based on what we said to solve the nation's problems. However, in the case of the Pheu Thai Party, they might bring up other political issues that the Bhumjaithai Party has been accused of. We haven't been convicted yet, and we aren't considered guilty of anything. I think that's their way."
He criticized Pheu Thai's approach, suggesting they offer options such as the former prime minister's PN ticket and questioned their conduct regarding the Alpine Golf Course issue. Siripong remarked on the tendency of some to campaign for votes while simultaneously taking credit and shifting blame, advising them to moderate their actions.
