SET Launches Third Annual Bootcamp to Train High School Investment Facilitators

Bangkok: The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is spearheading its third annual 'INVESTORY Investment Learning Design Bootcamp' to cultivate investment facilitator teachers at the secondary school level. This initiative is aimed at designing finance learning modules and disseminating them to students through an active learning format. Over the past three years, this program has successfully trained 155 facilitator teachers and reached 24,804 students.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Soraphol Tulayasathien, Deputy Managing Director of SET, emphasized the importance of this project in supporting secondary school teachers with knowledge on investment and finance. The program aims to foster creative learning process design skills, enabling teachers to transfer knowledge using contemporary methods. The overarching goal is to develop a nationwide secondary school investment and finance curriculum. The project has seen the creation of 155 investment facilitators across 35 provinces, impacting a total of 24,804 students.

The INVESTORY Investment Learning Design Bootcamp is dedicated to equipping secondary school teachers, acknowledging the growing interest of students in investment topics. The SET acts as a coach, offering the necessary knowledge, tools, and media for teachers to effectively facilitate and create learning processes that cater to student needs. Currently, 30 sample investment classrooms are available on the INVESTORY Investment Learning Museum website, allowing teachers nationwide to adapt and enhance these models to fit their school contexts. This initiative aligns with SET's 50-year strategic plan focused on creating future opportunities for all.

A highlight of this year's bootcamp is the 'Show and Share' activity, where teachers present their developed and tested teaching processes to peers and the public. These sessions involve learning from 11 investment classrooms, with senior investment facilitators from two schools sharing their real-world experiences and innovative ideas.

Mr. Prasai Jetsan from Rajavinit Bangkaew School in Samut Prakan Province shared insights from his work 'Too Difficult for Children or Too Late for Teachers?' He stressed that while children are aware of investing through the online world, true understanding requires proper guidance from teachers. This initiative represents a crucial opportunity for both teachers and students to learn about investing accurately.

Mr. Thanachai Lekwattana of Wat Khao Sukim Secondary School in Chanthaburi Province, creator of 'Small Classroom to the Wide World of Investment', highlighted the integration of investment topics into various subjects. Despite the challenges of teaching multiple subjects in smaller schools, he demonstrated that investment concepts could be woven into subjects like history and mathematics in an engaging manner.
