Nakhon Ratchasima: Lt. Gen. Boonsin Phadklang, the Commander of the 2nd Army Region, has embarked on a mission to distribute "Phra Phrathan" Buddha statues to various temples across 20 northeastern provinces in an effort to ward off evil and bring happiness to the nation.

According to Thai News Agency, Lt. Gen. Boonsin has been diligently traveling to different provinces within the 2nd Army Region, where he oversees military operations. During these visits, he brings along a principal Buddha image to be presented to a temple in each province. The initiative aims to foster spiritual well-being and prosperity among the local communities.

Lt. Gen. Boonsin emphasized the cultural importance of temples in the northeastern region, noting that locals frequently visit these sacred sites to make merit. He expressed his belief that donating these statues would not only generate great merit but also act as a symbolic gesture to attract good fortune and prosperity. 'Everyone will receive many benefits in their lives,' he stated, highlighting the broader impacts of such spiritual endeavors on both individuals and the country as a whole.

The distribution of these statues, which began on February 17, 2025, includes significant Buddhist images at various temples. These include Wat Don Yang Noi in Nakhon Ratchasima Province and Wat Pa Chapphanrangsri in Chaiyaphum Province, among others. Each statue, crafted from materials such as bronze, petrified wood, and jade, reflects the rich cultural heritage and historical periods of Thailand, ranging from the Ayutthaya to the Sukhothai eras.

The initiative by the 2nd Army Region serves as a testament to the enduring cultural and spiritual values that continue to unite communities in northeastern Thailand, offering a path to overcome adversity and enhance communal harmony.
