Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army convened a meeting with foreign military attach©s to address ongoing security concerns, focusing on the southern border provinces and the Thai-Cambodian border issue. Lieutenant General Kamchai Wongsri, Director-General of the Royal Thai Army Intelligence Department, led the Quarterly RTA Briefing for the third quarter at the Royal Thai Army Headquarters.
According to Thai News Agency, the meeting was attended by more than 50 personnel, including assistant military attach©s from various countries, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC), the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC), the Military Intelligence Department, and the Military Border Department. The aim was to update the Defence Attach©s to Thailand and other relevant parties on the current security situation.
The briefing focused on the security status in the southern border provinces, emphasizing the safety of residents and property and the promotion of multiculturalism in the area. The situation remains complex, with continuous incidents necessitating ongoing dialogue and opinion exchange among stakeholders.
Additionally, the Army Intelligence Department provided an update on the Thai-Cambodian border situation. The briefing covered the sequence of events, factual information, and the Army's strategies for resolving border issues. The Thai government seeks to address these challenges peacefully, utilizing bilateral international mechanisms.
