Royal Thai Army Condemns Cambodia for Border Mine Incident

Ubon ratchathani: The Royal Thai Army has condemned Cambodia for allegedly laying a mine in the border area of Chong An Ma, Ubon Ratchathani Province, resulting in severe injuries to Thai soldiers. On July 23, 2025, at approximately 4:55 p.m., personnel from the 14th Infantry Regiment's patrol unit encountered a landmine in the Huai Bon area, Nam Yuen District. The explosion injured five soldiers, with one suffering a serious right leg injury from stepping on the mine, while four others experienced chest tightness and tinnitus due to the blast. The injured are currently receiving urgent medical care at Nam Yuen Hospital.

According to Thai News Agency, the Army Commander will visit the area tomorrow to assess the situation and offer support to the injured soldiers. He has instructed the First Army, Second Army, and other forces to prepare to implement the "Chakraphong Phuwanat" plan as required.

The Royal Thai Army strongly condemns these actions, which it describes as inhumane and a violation of international humanitarian principles and agreements. The incident, occurring within Thai territory, has been labeled a severe threat to peace and stability along the Thai-Cambodian border. The Royal Thai Army is calling on Cambodia to accept responsibility for the incident.

The Royal Thai Army has assured that it will utilize all available mechanisms to safeguard its personnel and the Thai population, aiming to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
