Royal Thai Armed Forces Honor Queen Mother with Ceremony


Bangkok: The Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters conducted a ceremony to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.



According to Thai News Agency, the event took place on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. at the multipurpose area of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters on Chaeng Watthana Road, Bangkok. General Ukrit Boontanon, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, along with Ms. Paweena Boontanon, President of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters Wives’ Association, presided over the ceremony. The event was attended by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, heads of departments, and other personnel.



During the ceremony, the Commander-in-Chief and the President of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Wives’ Association led commanders, their spouses, and personnel in a moment of silence lasting 93 seconds to honor the Queen Mother’s memory. Following this, at 9:00 a.m., a book of condolence was signed by the Commander-in-Chief and the President at Reception Room 12 of the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters.



Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, revered as the “Mother of the Land,” is remembered for her contributions to Thai arts and culture and her efforts to improve the quality of life across the country, particularly in remote areas. Her legacy of sacrifice, strength, and loyalty continues to inspire the Thai people, who remain deeply grateful for her contributions and committed to upholding her aspirations for Thailand.
