Mae sot: The Rajamanu Task Force has urged the public to remain calm as fighting in Myanmar has reached a point just 5 kilometers from the Thai border. The Task Force emphasized that Thailand is not involved in the conflict and does not support any faction using Thai territory to further their interests.
According to Thai News Agency, between September 21-23, 2015, clashes occurred in Myanmar between the military and ethnic minority forces opposing the government. Heavy weapons were reportedly used by an unidentified force near Ban Don Chai in Mae Tao Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province. The incident did not impact the safety of residents in the border area.
The Rajamanu Task Force, together with the 35th Ranger Regiment and the 14th Border Patrol Task Force, continues to patrol and monitor the border. They are prepared to respond to emergencies, ensuring no breaches of sovereignty by foreign armed forces occur and maintaining the safety of citizens around the clock.
The Naresuan Task Force reiterated that Thailand remains neutral in the conflict and will not allow its territory to be used for advancing any group's interests. Thai officials are committed to providing humanitarian assistance to affected Myanmar citizens without discrimination.
The Task Force also called for cooperation from locals, the media, and various sectors to ensure accurate news dissemination, thereby preventing public panic.
