The officers searched all the monks' quarters and found only drug paraphernalia in some of the monks' quarters, but no drugs. They invited 10 monks and novices to have their urine tested for drugs, and found 3 of them tested positive for drugs: 1 monk aged 28, 5 novices aged 13-18, and 1 layma n aged 17. In total, 7 drug suspects were found. All monks and novices were disrobed by the temple abbot and taken to the Social Rehabilitation Center, Udon Thani Province, Territorial Defense Volunteer Corps 1, Udon Thani Province, for further treatment. The deputy chief of security for Muang district, Udon Thani province, revealed that previously, he had received complaints from local residents and the Damrongtham Center, as well as people who had called to report information on many occasions. Therefore, the administration had come to search and make arrests regularly. Last year, two novice monks were arrested for drug use and sent for rehabilitation, but he still received complaints. He said that most of the novice monks who came to study at this temple school had a history of drug use. Parents hoped that they would ordain to study to refine their minds, but it turned out that since each person had a history of drug use, they gathered together and hung out as usual.
