Public Pays Homage to Queen Mother at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall

Bangkok: The people were delighted to receive a royal portrait as a souvenir. The afternoon atmosphere saw people gradually arrive to sit and wait to pay their respects before the portrait of Her Majesty the Queen Mother. According to Thai News Agency, following the morning royal merit-making ceremony for the seventh day at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace, the Bureau of the Royal Household opened the public's entrance to pay homage before a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and to sign condolences at the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion, beginning at 1:00 PM. All members of the public, dressed in formal mourning attire, entered to pay their respects with deep sorrow and gratitude for Her Majesty's gracious care and support for the well-being of her subjects.

Those who sign their condolences will receive a portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and a portrait of the royal urn as a memento.

Inside the waiting tents at Sanam Luang, people are steadily arriving to pay their respects. Officials are stationed at each location to guide them through the route and to arrange seating inside the tents. They then proceed into the tunnel in front of the Royal Plaza, with groups of approximately 50 people per group. This allows for a continuous flow of people waiting to pay their respects, which will remain open until 4:00 PM.

Regarding public transportation, surveys revealed that most people travel by public transport, particularly the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) buses on routes that offer free services. Some people take the BTS Skytrain to Sanam Chai Station and then transfer to the free shuttle bus. Public transport data shows that since October 26, 2025, there have been a total of 12,400 passengers. The most popular routes are Victory Monument, Phaya Thai Island, and the six routes connecting to the BTS Skytrain stations.
