Prime Minister Vows Accountability in Favoritism Case at Bangkok Prison

Bangkok: The Prime Minister has declared he will not overlook the issue of preferential treatment given to Chinese prisoners at the Bangkok Special Prison. He assured that wrongdoers would not be spared and that the Minister of Justice is actively addressing the situation.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Anutin Charnvirakul, addressed concerns about alleged favoritism towards Chinese inmates at the Bangkok Remand Prison. He confirmed that the Minister of Justice has been instructed to adhere to regulations and that anyone found guilty of misconduct will face consequences. The Prime Minister is awaiting the release of the case files and reiterated his commitment to not tolerating any wrongdoing.

When questioned about the influence of Chinese mafia within government affairs, the Prime Minister stated that significant efforts have been made to combat such issues. He highlighted previous actions taken, including extraditing ringleaders, confiscating assets, and revoking citizenship, demonstrating a firm stance against criminal activities.

The Prime Minister further emphasized the necessity of holding individuals accountable for their actions, regardless of the severity of their offenses. He reassured that intentional misconduct would trigger regulatory measures, and affirmed that the Minister of Justice is not ignoring the situation.
