BANGKOK: The Prime Minister unveiled a comprehensive plan to tackle pressing national issues and stimulate economic growth, emphasizing the government's performance over the past three months and laying out future policies aimed at creating tangible results. The announcement, part of the "2568 Thai Opportunity, Can Really Be Done" initiative, highlighted efforts to address long-standing challenges and foster development in various sectors. According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister emphasized the need to lay an important foundation for the country in the coming year, particularly after two decades of conflict. The government's priorities include addressing flooding and drought with permanent, integrated solutions, amending laws on canal digging and soil sales, and tackling the PM 2.5 dust issue through reduced burning both domestically and in neighboring countries. The Prime Minister also addressed the resurgence of drug problems in Thailand, proposing a platform for direct, confidential reporting to the Prime Minister. The Tha Wang Pha model in Nan Province and Tha Wachi Buri in Roi Et Province will serve as guidelines for this initiative. Support for SMEs and small entrepreneurs will be enhanced to facilitate rice exportation by amending obstructive regulations and laws, opening business opportunities in local liquor, and addressing energy issues. Efforts to regulate informal businesses, which serve as channels for mafia and corruption, will include measures to collect taxes and control underground enterprises. The government plans to boost future business investments by developing an AI Hub and investing in clean energy, while promoting tourism on a monthly basis. The Prime Minister also announced policies to benefit the Thai people in 2025, including the "1 district, 1 scholarship" initiative to provide education for exemplary students using funds from the Government Lottery Office. Additional measures include investment in district development, SME assistance, affordable housing, and a 20 baht elec tric train policy to reduce public expenses. Finally, the government will expand the digital wallet policy, with Phase 2 providing cash to 4 million elderly people by Chinese New Year, and Phase 3 introducing a digital wallet by 2025.
