Bangkok: The Prime Minister has issued a directive to ensure the availability of consumer goods in the southern regions, which are currently grappling with severe flooding, to prevent any shortages.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pichai Naripthaphan, the Minister of Commerce, disclosed that Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra has been proactive since the onset of the flood crisis in the border areas. She has instructed the Ministry of Commerce to focus on ensuring that the southern regions affected by the floods do not face a shortage of consumer goods, nor should prices be inflated. This directive is being meticulously followed, with continuous inspections and oversight by provincial commerce offices in every province.
The government is also collaborating with various department stores to monitor product availability, ensuring that there is a consistent supply. In addition to these measures, relief bags are being prepared to provide assistance to those suffering from the disaster in the southern
regions.
